'YouTube no Ads/HQ3G' Disables Ads and Enables HQ Video on Cellular in YouTube App
Just a few days ago, a tweak was released in Cydia that allowed users to change their YouTube video streaming quality settings while connected to a cellular network, and not Wi-Fi; it was called HD Enabler for YouTube and we showed it to you here
. The tweak worked well, but the only major problem with the tweak is that for what it did, the price of $1.99 was a bit steep.
A new free jailbreak tweak called YouTube no Ads/HQ3G
by iOS developer ConkerKH is now available in Cydia for free, and as the name suggests, the tweak not only allows you to change your video streaming quality settings in the YouTube application while you're connected to a cellular network, but it also allows you to disable ads in the application so that you can enjoy an ad-free video-streaming experience.
The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable either of the two individual features on demand:
If you're looking to get these features for free, then this tweak is certainly what you're looking for. It does exactly what it's set out to do. If you want to give it a try, you'll find it in Cydia's BigBoss repository.
Note that if you're using a capped data plan from your cellular provider, increasing your YouTube video streaming quality can increase your data consumption and cause you to go over your data cap if you're not careful. You should monitor your data usage through your carrier's mobile application (if available) to keep track of your data usage and prevent unwanted fees for going over your data caps.
