News Republic iOS App Updated with iOS 7 Optimized Look and More Personalized Feeds
News Republic, which is the iOS app that describes itself as the “definitive news app,” has recently been updated with new features and several significant improvements. Version 4.0 of the app boasts a fresh, iOS 7 optimized look featuring a new icon and added space in the layout for easier browsing and news reading. Additionally, a new “One Feed” view has been added. This view is accessible by swiping to the right from the app’s home screen and it puts all the most important articles, along with your favorite topics, all in one place.
The app also features enhance personalization, learning by reading your history to build up a personal “news profile” which fits the stories you have looked at in the past. Based on this, a recommendation system then suggests the articles you will most likely be interested in reading.
Although right now, these features are currently only available on the iPhone version of the app, a similar iPad update should be released in the near future as well. Those of you interested in trying the iPhone version of the app can do so for free by downloading the app from the App Store.
