'HUDDismiss' Lets You Easily Dismiss the Volume HUD With a Tap
Sometimes one of the worst parts about the volume HUD (heads-up display) in iOS is that the blasted thing never seems to go away fast enough. Every once in a while, you might be watching a video, and the volume HUD stays up on your screen so long after you adjust the volume that you end up having to rewind the video to see the part that you just missed.
A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed HUDDismiss
by iOS developer Jake Januzelli makes it a whole lot easier to make that volume HUD go away.
Rather than simply waiting for the few seconds that it takes for the volume HUD to fade away, which can seem a lot longer than it really is when you're impatient, this tweak will make it so that by tapping on the volume HUD, it will begin to fade away right then and there.
This tweak seems to be a decent solution to the problem of the volume HUD staying on the display for so long, as it makes sure that the user manually confirms when they're ready to dismiss the volume HUD; otherwise, it will stay on the display for its usual amount of time. On the other hand, it would be nice if the volume HUD just instantly disappeared if the user tapped on it, rather than the user having to watch the fade away animation after tapping on the volume HUD.
To give this tweak a try, you can head over to Cydia's BigBoss repository and download it for free. The tweak has no options to configure, and it's very straightforward to use.
