  • CBS and NBC to Stream the NFL Playoff Coverage for Free

In a big move for both network television and sports, CBS recently announced that it will be live streaming the AFC division games during the NFL playoffs and NBC will be offering access to its wild card match-ups. The streams will be viewable on desktops including the Mac and tablets such as the iPad. Streaming access on smartphones continues to remain a question as of right now though.

CBS will be kicking off its coverage this Sunday, January 5th, with the wild card game between the San Diego Chargers and the Cincinnati Bengals. The game and live coverage will both begin at 1:00pm Eastern. After the initial game, CBS will also be streaming two division round games (Denver on January 11 and New England on January 12) as well as the AFC championship game on January 19.

Fox isn't being stingy when it comes to the biggest game of them all either, as it will be streaming Super Bowl XLVIII for free on February 2nd.
