  • Pebble to Bring "Something Special" to CES This Year

The creators of the popular smart watch, Pebble, which came to fruition as a result of a Kickstarter campaign last year, recently published a press release stating that it will be bringing “something special” to this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, on January 7. The CEO of Pebble, Eric Migicovsky, is scheduled to make the announcement on Monday, January 6, the day before CES gets underway in Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be a keynote that will start at 11:00 AM Pacific time and will be live streamed on the company’s website, which users can access by clicking here.

Although there aren’t any indications as to what may be on its way, recent speculation suggests that Pebble is likely to introduce its second-generation smart watch, which is expected to feature a touchscreen display and be compatible with Pebble’s upcoming App Store when it’s launched later this year.

We’ll have to wait and see what’s to come but it has us and probably many of you excited.

Seriously, the reason I didn't get the pebble was the battery life. $150 for a watch you have to charge every day? It's silly. If they add something like wireless charging, Bluetooth LE, then it could be considered.

I charge mine once a week at most so I'm not sure where you get this battery life issue from

Aslo, it does use Bluetooth LE

I hope not Pebble 2 -- at least not yet. I just bought mine before the new year.

Yup mine is only charged once a week. Maybe you are thinking of the Galaxy Gear.

Like previously mentioned, LE was introduced with the last update. I charge mine every 5-7 days (even longer when I would shut it off before I went to bed)

My wish, Make it easier to make watch faces. I'm clueless

I get even more if I do something crazy like turn it off at night when I don't need it.

In hoping it'll be just the App Store. Don't wanna be outdated after two weeks.
For the faces just google pebble face generator and there's a great website that you can make your own faces from your own images.

The heck are you talking about? I go over a week without charging mine, you are highly misinformed.

I hope it's not a touch screen. The primary reason I want a smart watch is to control my phone with gloves on a motorcycle. That's what I wanted the Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Music Edition for since 2007. If the screen hadn't faded I'd still be using it today.
