  • 'ClearFolders' Removes the Blur From iOS 7 Folders for a Cleaner Appearance

Depending on whether you prefer iOS 7ís blur style in layers, or if you prefer the look of simplistic transparency, you might want to take a look at a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed ClearFolders by iOS developer Sirifl0w.

As shown above, ClearFolders removes the blurred background from folders in iOS 7, giving it a transparent effect instead. You will see the title of the folder at the top of the display still, but rather than the blurriness getting in the way of your wallpaper, you can see right through your application icons to the wallpaper, just like if you were looking at your home screen.

On the flip side, you have to be a true minimalist to appreciate this tweak. Some might prefer the ability to see the border of the folder via the blurred background over the wallpaper, but in the end, this is completely up to you.

If you want to give ClearFolders a try, it's available right now for free in Cydia's ModMyi repository. The tweak doesn't have any options to configure.

    Name: ClearFolders
    Price: FREE
    Version: 1.0
    Requirements: iOS 7.0-7.0.4

Working perfectly for me, what were Apple on when they came up with that horrid folder background?

This can be achieved by placing a transparent png named "FolderMask@2x~iphone.png" into the SpringBoard app.

RENAME your original "FolderMask@2x~iphone.png" first to keep it in the iOS.

      Respring/Reboot

This should work for WB when it is finally updated

Love this tweak, hope someone brings out a tweak that allows more apps in a folder than just the 9 applications, especially on iPad, too much room wasted

Does not work on iPhone 4. Was really hoping this would work, can not stand that folder blur....

Update... After countless hours messing around with setting I was able to get this to work.. Had to turn on Reduce Motion. Go into Settings>General>Accessibility>Reduce Motion.

You can also use HiddenSettings7 to achieve this.

All I use it for is make animations quicker. Under Animation Overrides->Spring Animations, set mass factor to 0.4. You can set to 0.2 but it's a little too fast for me.

But with iOS 7 you can have more than 9 in a folder. It just creates another page once you go past 9. Just slide pages right to left and back.
