New Signage Points Toward an Upcoming Flagship Apple Store in Brisbane, Australia
The folks over at ifoAppleStore
have noticed new signage for an Apple Store in Brisbane, Australia indicating that a new Apple Retail Store is to open. The signage is located in the MacArthur Chambers building and currently does not have an official opening date yet but it is estimated that the second week of January is when the doors will open.
The new location will make Apple twenty-first retail store in the country and will help push Tim Cook’s vision of selling even more Apple devices through first-party retail stores. For those of you who don’t remember, Cook spoke to Apple’s Retail Store Leaders for approximately three hours at a secret summit held in San Francisco back in July. The CEO pointed towards the iPhone being the “gateway product” to other Apple devices such as the iPad and the Mac and pointed towards the fact that 80% of iPhones sold aren’t sold at Apple’s Retail Stores. He wants to see the number of iPhones sold to be more in line with the number of iPhones serviced at iPhone stores which is roughly 50%. Opening additional is one step in the right direction in terms of changing that.
