  • iOS 7 Jailbreak Tool evasi0n7 Updated to Version 1.0.1, Removes TaiG

On Tuesday, the evad3rs iOS hacker team released an updated version of its evasi0n7 jailbreak tool for iOS 7, bringing the tool’s version up to 1.0.1.

Version 1.0.1 of evasi0n7 is available for both Mac and PC via the download links below:

The release removes TaiG, a third-party App Store previously installed via evasi0n7 on Chinese devices, from the software, as iOS hacker pod2g announced on Christmas Eve:

Notably, the evad3rs are aware of a compatibility issue with the iPad 2 and hope to have a fix out as soon as possible; possibly by tomorrow:

You will find our guide on how to jailbreak iOS 7 with evasi0n7 at this link. If you are already jailbroken, there is no need to go and re-jailbreak your device(s) again.

Anthony... dude... Does this jailbreak let us see our battery usage after a Respring? Or too early to tell?

Is there an update in cydia for this too? Because I can't find this TaiG thing to delete when I jailbroke my 5s with the 1.0.0 evasi0n

Should be good. It's most likely something to fix with the iPad 2 I would guess

Is this something that we'll want to mess with restoring and doing the jailbreak with the new version?

Not if you can't read. The article states that if you jail broke your "Chinese" device then TaiG would be installed. If you don't have a "Chinese device" then you should be fine.

I would like to know this as well. Or could I just re-jailbreak right on top of the old one? Or is it even necessary.

I jailbroke with evasi0n7-win-1.0.0. Perhaps it should be stated that if you jailbroke with this version your fine

If it was me I'd be restoring, I DFU Restored my 4S to 7.0.4 yesterday. But ill be waiting for a more final release of the JB. I remember the evasi0n 6X JB wreaking havoc with the iOS that was later rectified in later iterations of the JB Tool.

No, at least not on my 5s.

Real question stands, what about mobile substrate?
Don't mean disrespectful with that question, regarding how people are very uneasy lately.

This was only on the .1 to .2 tool for evasion 6.. After .2 there was no need to use .3 or .4.. They just fixed something in the tool on .3 and for a specific device in .4 as memory serves.

Uggh. You're kidding. What an annoying price to pay to be jailbroken - never being able to see your battery usage level after a Respring. Uggh..

Ah ok, I still used the latest version offered. So I'm not too worried about waiting it out.

Are u talking batt % Grant? I let that go in iOS6. Never ever really worried me. Less clutter in the status bar IMO

From what I understand loss of battery stats is something unrelated to the jb. If I'm not mistaken, you lose usage after a reboot on a non jb device. Seems like someone could create a tweak to monitor battery stats..? I'm weird about checking my usage too so I know what you mean.

Guys i'm pretty sure once everything is fixed you can disable TaiG in a mobilesubstrate disabler thing (in SBsettings, for example) instead of restoring and re-jailbreaking
