Ryan Petrich Teases Upcoming FlipControlCenter Tweak, Display Recorder for iOS 7
On Tuesday, well-known iOS hacker and developer Ryan Petrich
teased an upcoming jailbreak tweak for iOS 7 that he calls FlipControlCenter
. In addition, he recorded a preview of the tweak with what appears to be an iOS 7-compaptible version of Display Recorder, Petrich’s well-known software for capturing screen movements in video.
You can view Petrich's teaser video below:
You can tell right off the bat that Display Recorder has been given a refreshed interface to look how it should look on iOS 7, with the white interface styling and flatter user interface elements.
But more importantly, the focus of the video appears to be on FlipControlCenter, which is a new jailbreak tweak (unreleased at this point in time), which will allow the user to configure the order of toggles and shortcuts in Control Center. The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where the user can drag the toggles and shortcuts up or down in a list to configure the order.
Not only does it allow users to configure the order, but it adds additional toggles and shortcuts that aren't usually there without the tweak. For example, the shortcut to the Settings application, the shortcut for respringing the device, the toggle for auto-lock, and the toggle for location services are not found in the Control Center of a stock iOS 7 device.
We look forward to seeing the release of both FlipControlCenter and Display Recorder for iOS 7, and we will be sure to keep everyone updated on the release.
