News emerging from the Far East today calls for Apple to unveil a new iPhone in May, presumably accelerating a more aggressive product release schedule for the tech maker in 2014.
On Monday, DigiTimes reported that the next-gen iPhone will sport a larger display and use a 20nm processor manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
The central focus of the new report, however, is Apple's tablet line. Sources tell the publication that Apple will likely release a 12.9-inch tablet in October "targeting North America's educational market."
Apple's large-size tablet will be manufactured by Quanta Computer, and was originally expected to adopt either 12.9- or 13.3-inch panels, with recent rumors indicating that 12.9-inch has a better chance to be picked, the sources noted.
