'YouTubed' Forces YouTube Audio to Play in the Background While Multi-tasking
For those of you that use YouTube as a way to stream music, or to listen to your favorite comedian while working, doing homework, or some other activity, you might find it annoying that when you close the YouTube application on your iOS device, the audio stops playing until you re-open the YouTube application and resume the video.
A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed YouTubed by iOS developer iLendSoft makes it so that when you close the YouTube application while you're in the middle of watching a video, the audio from the video will continue playing. The audio will continue playing even if you open another application. So if you find a song on YouTube that you really like, and then you want to go to your Safari application and search Google for an interesting fact, you can do so and your song won't stop playing.
Not to mention, when you re-open your YouTube application, the video will continue playing at whatever point that the audio has reached without the need to scrub forward or backward, and without the need to press the play button again.
YouTubed does not have any options to configure and is completely free. Paid YouTube extensions like YourTube and ProTube also offer this feature, but for those looking for a free option, YouTubed is definitely feasible. You can grab it right now from Cydia's BigBoss repository. To get the most out of the tweak, you'll also want Google's YouTube application from the App Store, which can be downloaded for free via this App Store link
This tweak is for iOS 6 users, as iOS 7 is not yet jailbroken; the evad3rs are making slow progress on an iOS 7 jailbreak
, but little is known about the progress at this point in time.
