  • Google Shopper for iPhone Now Available

In November last year, Google announced an App for the Android system called Google Shopper. The app was downloaded over a million times to Androids and today that number will grow, as it becomes available for your iPhone.

Google Shopper helps you find information on millions of products. Google Shopper recognizes products by cover art, barcode, voice and text search. You can find local and online prices, reviews, specifications, videos, and more to help you make the best purchasing decision. With one click you can save items to your shopping list and share with your friends.
Using the Google Shopper app, users will be able to compare prices between web retailers, utilize GPS and Location based results, and for some retailers, you can even check the inventory status to make sure they have what you want in Stock and In Store.

Google Shopper is available for free in the Apple App Store. The App is compatible with the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0+.

I really wish Google would combine all their apps into one. A "one app to rule them all" approach would be better in my opinion.

Totally agree. It does get tiresome always switching through apps and webpages.

How is it working for everyone? I currently use RedLaser for barcodes and SnapTell for cover art. If this works well enough, perhaps I'll ditch those two and use this instead.

Update: After a few tests (simply by scanning images/barcodes online), it seems that it's just as accurate and fast as both RedLaser & SnapTell. The one difference I've noticed is that RedLaser comes up with a hand full of local stores when Shopper does not. At this point in time, I'm retiring SnapTell but will keep RedLaser when I want to shop locally.

Is this only available in the U.S.A App Store? I can't seem to find it (I live in Canada)!
