Gold HTC One Seeks to Compete with Apple's Gold iPhone 5S Offering
HTC recently announced a new variant to its HTC One that gives Android fans with the taste for gold a nice alternative to the iPhone 5S. The new device is identical to the original when it comes to the internal parts but its aluminum panels have a new champagne-colored design. For those of you who didnít know, HTC has already produced a gold HTC One, but that of course had a real 18-carat gold coating and was made to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the MOBO awards. Only five of these devices were manufactured and each one was priced at a whopping $4,500.
The new handset produced is by the company is much cheaper and more affordable though. Itís made from gold-colored aluminum, just like the original One and the gold iPhone 5S, which isnít actual 18-carat gold either.
The One is already seen as a competitive alternative to the iPhone, with the device boasting better design and build quality than most other Android-powered smartphones. This coupled with its 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, HTCís trademark UltraPixel camera and BoomSound audio with front-facing stereo speakers could convert quite a few iOS device owners.
HTCís new device will be available across Europe ďsoon,Ē with no pricing or availability being confirmed as of yet.
