  • Apple Hypes Major iTunes Announcement Tuesday Morning

The front page of Apple's website says it all. Tomorrow is a big day for iTunes. How so? I guess we'll found out for certain in fewer than 24 hours. For now, Apple will only say that it has an "exciting announcement" planned for 7 a.m. Pacific, 10 a.m. Eastern tomorrow. "Tomorrow is just another day that you'll never forget," Apple proclaims with the full power of the entire front page. "Check back here tomorrow for an exciting announcement from iTunes."

Although much speculation will likely be rampant across the blogosphere for the remainder of today, most are already assuming that the announcement will be rooted in the long-awaited arrival of streaming content to iTunes. Almost a full year into Apple's acquisition of Lala, virtually nothing has come of the purchase, even though "imminent" announcements have been anticipated since the day after the news of the acquisition leaked.

All told, anything cloud-based would be a welcome development for millions of iTunes users. In fact, if tomorrow's announcement involves anything less than new streaming, cloud-based attributes, Tuesday will, indeed, be "just another day" after all. For that reason, Apple's grand hype suggests that something huge is definitely around the corner. And, fortunately, we won't have to wait long to find out the specifics.

My point. Putting it on an iPod is nice for carrying around, but for quality listening, I much prefer uncompressed sound. The new remasters sound really good in full fidelity.

You get misty eyed thinking about that "magical" day, and the girl you are watching the movie with thinks you are crying because the scene in Twilight: Zombie Love, is very emotional.

You explain to her you are not crying because Bella is in love with a zombie now, but because you just remembered that day 10 years ago...

The day Apple announced it would be selling Beatle songs on iTunes for $1.99 a song.

She instantly bursts into tears. She too, remembers that magical day. You both start sobbing uncontrollably, both remembering the day that no one will ever forget.....

The day apple announced you could download music you already own.

I think its a combo of things, such as Finally getting a contract agreement settling all the lawsuits with the Beatles, ICloud, Release of the WHITE Iphone (maybe) New Ipad (doubt it). WHatever it is for Apple to write something so open ended it is probably huge. narrowing it down huge would be iCloud, White Iphone 4, 2nd Ipad, or even Buy one get one free HAHAHA

      are you sh*tting me..

Sigh, it looks like Apple is at it upgrading their itunes servers.. I attempted to transfer my purchases back to my computer from my iPhone, as I'm having issues making phone calls with my replacement handset(non death grip related). Unfortunately, my iTunes wouldn't detect that it was "authorized" to play/use content on my phone.

I've also hit the 5 computer limit on my account. Like an idiot, I deauthorized all of my computers within iTunes, thinking it would allow me to authorize again. Nope. Nada. great.

I hope this doesn't mean a day jailbreaking to newer firmware becomes 'near impossible' or postpones the early release of JB due to something being introduced into iTunes....and before anyone goes there, I already know 4.2 JB is being worked on and the fact that it needs iTunes 10.1.

Or maybe it's a day when apple throws in the towel and sanctions jailbreaking through an iTunes update??

Seeings how apple.com still says tomorrow is just another day. You would think that they would have updated it to "today is just another day". I would laugh if nothing happened today because there is no specific date on the page. Just a thought guess we will see shortly.

Apple will be announcing their purchase of Sony Entertainment and the Audio and Movie content to go with it in the iTunes library. Thats why this picked this time -- shortly just after the market opens -- rather then their standard 1:00 EST.

I just hope it's something useful. Not a Ping upgrade, none of this "cloud" crap... I would be somewhat disappointed if it was Music streaming because I had just set up a streaming server 3 days ago, although that wouldn't be so bad.

      If it was anything store-related:
      50 cent songs, maybe?
A Pay-To-Play service, 10 cents per play? ('cmon, it's Apple, you know they would...)
Expiring licenses? A couple months after buying a song, your "right" to play it would expire, forcing you to buy again. (again, it's APPLE people...)
