  • Forbes Ranks Apple the World's Most Valuable Brand... Again

Despite the company's year-long slump on Wall Street and its alleged lack of innovation since the death of Steve Jobs, Apple - for the 3rd straight year - has been ranked by Forbes as the world's most valuable brand.

"A Forbesí study of the top brands illustrates that the Apple name is as strong as ever," writes reporter Kurt Badenhausen. "Apple is the most valuable brand in the world for a third straight time at $104.3 billion, up 20% over last year. It is worth nearly twice as much as any other brand on the planet by our count."

In second place is Microsoft with a brand worth $56.7 billion. Forbes reports that the value of Microsoft's brand has been "flat" for more than three years. The reason? Microsoft is having a difficult time making the transition from a PC to a mobile world.

Coca-Cola placed third with a brand value of $54.9 billion and is the only non-tech company to place in the top five on the new list.

According to information contained in this morning's report, of the 100 most valuable brands spanning 15 countries, brands from U.S.-based companies represent more than half the names on the list.
