Analyst: Two Annual iPhone Refreshes Will Be The New Norm for Apple
Morgan Stanley analyst and resident Apple watcher Katy Huberty said today that we should now expect two new iPhones a year from Apple.
Just as we bore witness to the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c this fall, Apple will likely introduce at least two new iPhones annually from this point forward, Huberty told investors on Wednesday.
After a recent meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook, Huberty is confident that Apple is poised to embrace a greater frequency for product refreshes in the iPhone line-up.
Of course, if these projections manifest, it wouldn't come as much of a surprise. Apple, after all, has faced pressure from critics and even some of its board members to innovate more aggressively and introduce more products on a more routine basis.
While it isn't yet clear if the iPad and iPad mini will see multiple refreshes annually, the iPhone family all but certainly will.
