  • Apple to Fix Keyboard and Trackpad Freezing Issue on New 13-inch Retina MacBook Pros

Apple is aware of a problem with the new 2013 retina display MacBook Pros that is causing the keyboard and trackpad to randomly become unresponsive during use. As we reported earlier this week, the only sure way to get around this issue was for users to perform a hard reset of the machine by holding the power button for a period of time.

During the event, both the keyboard and the trackpad fail to recognize user input, and it can be frustrating for those in the middle of trying to click or type on their new machines. Apple has not only acknowledged this problem, but also promises users that a fix is on the way:

The update will come by way of the Mac App Store’s Updates tab when Apple pushes it to the public.

Notably, Apple has also recently acknowledged a battery manufacturing problem affecting a small number of iPhone 5s units and is replacing them for affected users at no cost.

This happens on mid-2012 non-retina systems as well.
