Apple confirmed Wednesday that its retail stores will open early next Friday to accommodate the masses wanting to get their hands on the new iPad Air.
Apple will open stores at 8:00 a.m. local time on November 1st, which is one hour earlier than usual. Apple has been known to open stores early for major product launches, like last month's introduction of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.
The iPad Air will be sold through the Apple Online Store, Apple’s retail stores, and through AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
As of next Friday, in addition to the United States, the iPad Air will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China (Wi-Fi models only), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao (Wi-Fi models only), Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
As a reminder, the new iPad mini with Retina display does NOT
go on sale next Friday. The launch, however, is still slated for later next month.
