  • Tim Cook Kicks off iPad Media Event

Moments ago, Apple CEO Tim Cook took the stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, California to kick off today's eagerly-anticipated media event.

    First up, an iPhone update.

Cook reiterated that the new iPhones (iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c) sold nine million units by the end of the launch weekend, making it the "biggest iPhone launch ever."

Cook then threw it to a brief video highlighting the retail frenzy at Apple stores that accompanied the launch of both devices.

After the video package wrapped up, Cook cited a number of press reviews that called the new flagship iPhone 5s Apple's best work to date.

Cook said today that 200 million devices were upgraded to iOS 7 in five days.

The Apple CEO winded down his remarks by revealing that there are now more than 1 million apps in the App Store, all of which have been downloaded more than 60 billion times. Consequently, developers have earned in excess of $13 billion so far.

So much for Apples "Live" Stream

Edit. Turns out the stream ONLY plays using Safari, even on Mac OS X....what a joke. It's a simple quicktime stream...why force people to use Safari to view it.
