  • Tim Cook Reflects on Second Anniversary of Steve Jobs' Passing in E-mail to Employees

On Friday, Apple CEO Tim Cook sent Apple employees an e-mail reflecting on the second anniversary of the passing of former Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Tomorrow, October 5, will mark the second anniversary of Jobs' passing.

    The e-mail is as follows:

I think of him often and find enormous strength in memories of his friendship, vision and leadership. He left behind a company that only he could have built and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We will continue to honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to the work he loved so much. There is no higher tribute to his memory. I know that he would be proud of all of you.

    Best,

    Tim
Jobs is often referred to as the face of Apple. He is missed by not only those that worked with him, but also by those that thought of his innovations as world changing. Those whose lives he touched with brilliant technology.

Apple's Web page still supports the original Remembering Steve Jobs Web page that was posted in the year of Jobs' passing.

Jobs whould be proud of Apple and what it has become.

I still love the line that most of the world found out about his death on a device he invented.

Good stuff! Nice to know he is not forgotten by his own. Not even sure that is possible. Definitely missed.

Apple has gone downhill without Steve Jobs guiding them. I'm pretty sure he would've disapproved of the iPad mini and iPhone 5c.

WRONG apple hasn't gone downhill peoples standards went up, apple got away with minimal upgrades while he was alive because not too many people had iPhones now damn near every person I see has one...more people to impress will leave them with more people unimpressed i bet he would've made the same phone if he was alive

And will morn his passing from time to time. As he and his company where developing hardware and software i was reverse engeniering the routines for copy right protection on some of apples early works.

You can gain a lot of respect by reversing the build of a great product tearing it apart to make it do things you want it to do. My only regret in life is i didnt have the guts to go to cally and apply at apple.

Long live his memory he was our generations great one.

I am proud to work for the company he created, everyday. I, too, found out about his dead on my iPhone and checked CNN on the MacBook Air. He may be gone, but his spirit is still very much alive at Apple. His dying wish was for Apple to do what's right and not what he would have done and I think Apple is doing a great job at representing his wish.

As I type this on my iPad I can't help but think how Jobs completely transformed how the world interacts with computers. He was some kind of messiah of the digital world.
