  • Apple Announces New OS X 10.9 Mavericks Build to AppleSeed Members

Apple recently notified members of its AppleSeed program that a new OS X 10.9 Mavericks build was available for download. It should be noted that this time, the message contained had no mention of the phrasing “Developer Preview,” prompting some to speculate that work on the next-gen Mac operating system is close to completion.

The latest Mavericks beta dubbed Build 13A598 comes just over two weeks after the previous version seeded in mid-September. People familiar with the seed note the email didn’t contain the words as did all previous versions up to this point. As seen above, the title has been changed to just being “OS X Mavericks.”

As with most of the recent developer previews, the recent seed comes with no major changes to the forthcoming OS according to people who are familiar with the release.

When Apple launches OS X 10.9 Mavericks later this fall, it will come with iBooks, Finder Tabs, Maps, App Nap and Compressed Memory along with several other features. Members of the AppleSeed program can download OS X 10.9 Mavericks via Software Update in the Mac App Store.

I got the iPhoto 9.4.7 and iTunes 11.1.1 update and not an official Mavericks GM update. I believe you have to download the Mavericks GM seed from the dev center.
