Because customization is king, we can’t help but show you this cool new jailbreak tweak called Glowcon by iOS developer Vatsal Manot.
Glowcon lets you customize each of your application icons individually so that they glow with a color of your choice. You can customize the color so that each application icon glows a different color, or you can customize the color so that every application icon glows the same color. Not only do these settings apply to the home screen, but they also apply to the content inside of your App Switcher.
You will be able to configure much more than just the color, but also the radius of the color spread, as well as the opacity of the color spread. All of this can be managed from the tweak's preferences pane, which is added to the Settings application after installation:
You will also find yourself with two switches, one that enables or disables the tweak on demand, and one that lets you include or exclude the dock application icons depending on your tastes. The color choices you have available include:
- Dark Gray
- Light Gray
The actual glow effect offers a lot of the same appearances of another one of the developer’s tweaks called Chameleon. The main difference between the tweaks includes the level of customization, and the fact that Glowcon only handles the application icons, and not other interface elements like the status bar, lock screen, paging dots, and more.
If you'd like to give Glowcon a try, it's available right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository for just 99˘.
