  • 'Dandelion' Lets You Set Your Display Brightness on a Per-app Basis

Earlier today, we showed you Volume, a tweak that allowed you to configure your volume level on a per-application basis. But volume certainly isn’t the only thing that could take advantage of such an idea. Brightness level could too!

A new free jailbreak tweak in Cydia dubbed Dandelion by iOS developer Vatsal Manot is now available that lets you configure your display brightness on a per-app basis. What this means is that you can configure each application that you open to have a different display brightness. And you will notice the display brightness change each time you launch the applications that you configured a brightness level for.

After installing the tweak, you will find a preferences pane in your Settings application that will let you configure your display brightness settings for each application installed on your iOS device:

You will find two cells. One of them leads you to a list of installed applications where you can set a brightness level that will take effect when you launch that application. The other cell has a switch that will make it so that when you close the application that changed your display brightness to your set amount, your display brightness will return to the original amount that it was before opening that application that changed it.

You can configure the brightness for jailbreak applications, App Store applications, and even pre-installed applications. You can configure the brightness to be anything in increments of .1 from 0.01 to 1.

This tweak is sure to come in handy for those that like to have the brightness turned all the way up in some applications, but not for others. If you want to give Dandelion a try, it’s available for free in Cydia’s BigBoss repository.
