If you’re a Spotify fan, then this new jailbreak tweak might just be right up your alley.
Controls for Spotify by iOS developer Ron Thakrar integrates Ryan Petrich’s popular Activator application into Spotify to make it really easy to perform actions from within the popular green music streaming application. The developer himself enjoys Spotify, and thought that this tweak would make it easier for users to access these features.
The tweak adds a preferences pane (shown above) to the Settings application where you can configure Activator actions for all of the different functions that are available. Those functions include:
- Starring a song
- Starring and Thumbs-upping a song
- Thumbs-upping a song
- Thumbs-downing a song
- Toggling shuffle mode on or off
- Toggling repeat mode on or off
- Copying the URL of the playing song
- Opening the AirPlay menu
In addition, the preferences pane also includes a compatibility fix for the popular multitasking tweak Zephyr. With the latest version of Spotify, swiping up to view the now-playing song can sometimes conflict, and this feature helps prevent that conflict.
The developer promises that even more cool features are being worked on for the future, including lock screen music controls for Spotify, and more.
If you want to give Controls for Spotify a try, it's available absolutely free in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. You will need to have the free Spotify application from the App Store installed to take advantage of the features in this tweak. You will also need Activator from Cydia, also free.
