Facebook Announces That An iOS 7-Redesigned App Will Launch Today
On Wednesday, Facebook announced that a redesigned Facebook application would be released later in the day for iOS 7.
Above, Facebook for iOS 7 has a flatter user interface with more vibrant coloring. The top blue bar of the application is translucent and changes dynamically as you scroll through content. Swipe gestures have also been added.
But that's not all. Facebook also taunts a new menu at the bottom of the application that makes it easier to navigate the application. The menu offers button shortcuts for the News Feed, your Friend Requests, your Messages, your Notifications, and More.
In a way, the update seems to be going back in time, bringing back the old iOS menu-type interface rather than relying so heavily on a sidebar to navigate. The More button on the new Menu will bring you to features that you would normally see if you opened the sidebar in the current version of Facebook for iOS.
The update will be available in the App Store later today, but no specific time is given.
