The developer of the popular Reeder RSS application for iOS launched Reeder 2 as a universal application in the App Store a couple of days ago. The new application brought with it an entirely new design, which compliments iOS 7 very well.
If you’re familiar with the older Reeder application for iOS, you may have heard about the free ReederEnhancer jailbreak tweak for it, which we covered back in July, that improved upon the application’s functionality. The developer of this jailbreak tweak has just launched a new jailbreak tweak in Cydia called Reeder2Enhancer, which ultimately accomplishes the same goal as ReederEnhancer, but for the new Reeder 2 application.
This means adding the following new useful features to the Reeder 2 application:
- Show an alert when you send an article
- Disable the pull to refresh feature
- Show notifications for when Reeder is synced
- Change the format of information you share before it is posted to social networks
- Change the format of information you send via e-mail
The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can adjust the tweak's options:
Inside of the preferences pane, you will find options for changing the information format for the information you share to Facebook and/or Twitter, the options to change the format for the information you share via e-mail, the ability to enable or disable pull to refresh in the application, the ability to enable or disable confirmation messages when sending articles, and the ability to adjust the font size of titles and subtitles in the application.
For an application like Reeder 2, which already does a lot of cool things, tweaks like this that can extend the functionality are always great little additions. If you want to grab Reeder2Enhancer, you will find it in Cydia’s BigBoss repository for free. If you want to grab Reeder 2, you will find it in the App Store for $4.99.
