iOS Hacker pod2g Seems Pretty Confident in an iOS 7 Public Jailbreak
On Friday, two iOS hackers that are members of the evad3rs hacker team expressed confidence in a public jailbreak for iOS 7.
iOS hacker pimskeks started with saying that he was working on things with iOS hacker pod2g, and then pod2g noted that he had confidence in a public jailbreak for iOS 7. Notably, while he has confidence, he does not mean that a public iOS 7 jailbreak will be released any time soon.
The day the iOS 7 golden master was released
, the evad3rs began testing their exploit arsenal
on iOS 7 to see what ones were still useful. One day later, the evad3rs followed up saying that they had successfully accomplished unsigned userland code execution
in iOS 7.
With the progress we're hearing about, today's announcement seems to show that the evad3rs are continuing to make progress internally.
Being that the iPhone 5S
and iPhone 5C
haven't even been released yet, it makes sense that the evad3rs don't expect a release any time soon. The evad3rs will need to research Apple's new 64-bit A7 chip
before any additional progress can be made on a public iOS 7 jailbreak.
Nonetheless, it's great to hear that the hackers have confidence, because that means things are going well up to this point in time. We appreciate the work they are putting into this effort once again and continue to offer our support as a community.
