Reeder 2 Universal iOS App Now Available in the App Store
Yes, Google Reader did shut down quite some time ago
, but there are still some other awesome RSS alternatives. For those that have already discovered them, you'll find that the new Reeder 2 application for iOS supports most of them.
Reeder 2 is a brand new version of Reeder for iOS, with all of the same features that we know and love. It is a universal application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and has been completely redesigned. Another thing we can tell right off the bat, is that Reeder 2 is optimized for iOS 7. The interface is flatter, the icon is flatter, and the application even takes advantage of iOS 7ís transparent keyboard.
Reeder 2 is, a separate application from Reeder for iOS. This means that all users, both new and old, will need to re-purchase the application from the App Store for $4.99.
Reeder 2 supports all of the following RSS services, and supports more than one account at once:
- Feedbin syncing
- Feedly syncing
- Feed Wrangler syncing
- Fever syncing
- Readability syncing
- Local/standalone RSS (no sync)
If you want to give Reeder 2 a shot, you can grab it from this App Store link
for $4.99. Even though the application appears to be optimized for iOS 7, it will still run on iOS 6.1 and later.
