  • Apple Seeds iOS 7 Golden Master to Developers

After Apple’s official word on Tuesday that iOS 7 would be released to the public on September 18th, Apple followed up Tuesday afternoon with a seed of iOS 7 golden master for developers. Developers can now officially get to downloading the golden master of iOS 7 from the Developer Center of Apple’s Web site.

The golden master seed occurred approximately 26 days later than the last beta of iOS 7 – iOS 7 beta 6.

The golden master is the last developer version of iOS that is usually seeded right before the public release. It is the closest thing to the real thing that developers have to finalize testing with their applications so they’re ready when iOS 7 is finally launched to the public.

iOS 7 brings users a ton of new features, like Control Center, Parallax wallpapers, new multitasking, improved applications, new interfaces, and more.

Umm I'm pretty sure if you obtain and unreleased public version of android (take kit kat for example) it is still illegal to own...

It also seems that no matter the settings. If you ask Siri how far something is she always give the metric numbers.

I just asked "How far is the moon" and Siri came back with 231000 miles.

Wow smith01, you really burned us all there... Now can you please not troll this site if you have nothing helpful to add?

Now then, has anyone had battery issues going to GM? I updated mine from Beta by alt+clicking "Check for Updates", went very smoothly, but a couple hours later my phone was very warm (as if GPS was on) and at 50%. I checked the usual suspects like location services but it did it randomly again today. Was I supposed to do a full restore?

A couple of more questions, since I'm not a developer, would I have any complications when/while installing it?

Is there anything else I'd new to do besides that to install it?

I know you said GM is the full version, but could I still be able to update to the real full version, not the GM version when the full version is available on my Settings or would I have to downgrade back to 6.1.4 to be able to update to the real full version on iTunes or something?

      Thank you!
iOS 7 GM IS the "real" full version. It's the exact same version that will be seeded on the 18th. The next version you would get is 7.0.1 just like the rest of us. The "full" version will not show up on your settings because it will say "iOS 7.0 your software is up to date".
I installed it and it went very smoothly.

I had those symptoms when I was in DC the other day and I was using Google Maps for GPS running beta 6. But today, browsing the web, forums, and testing websites on my phone with a total of 5hrs of usage I only dropped to 50% (much better than before). The GM has only been out for a little over a day now so I would keep and eye on the web. I personally did not do a full restore, just an update. I did do a DFU restore when I originally installed beta 1 though if that makes any difference.

Yeah, I did a full restore when I went to beta, it seems to be good this morning so far... Maybe it was trying to download songs or something.
