Apple CEO Tim Cook Takes The Stage for iPhone 5S Announcement
Apple on Tuesday kicked off its eagerly anticipated media event at the company's Cupertino, California campus at One Infinite Loop.
As expected, Apple CEO Tim Cook kicked off the festivities with a bountiful presentation of details, including the company's impressive retail growth in the last twelve months.
"As many of you know, we've been expanding our retail footprint outside the United States," Cook said, briefly recapping the progress underway at the site of Apple's new Stanford store.
Touching on retail for only a few moments, Cook quickly yielded the stage to Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering.
"We've been hard at work at completing iOS 7," Federighi said before recapping the forthcoming bells and whistles that will deliver new functionality to the iPhone experience. "Next month we will ship the 700 millionth iOS device."
From an improved Siri and Photos experience to Noticifcation Center access and more convenient search, Federighi made his case for why "virtually overnight, hundreds of millions of people [will] download iOS 7."
"Downloading iOS 7 is like getting a whole new device," he concluded before returning the stage to Cook.
iOS 7 launched September 18th.
