  • Flash video comes to the iPhone via Skyfire

You heard it correctly. After two months in the approval process Apple has finally pushed through Skyfire 2.0. This is a Safari overlay that adds in a ton of extra functionality including the ability to transcode Flash video on a remote server and stream it back to your iPhone in HTML5. The demo video above shows a lot of clever Facebook integration and expanded searches. Not ALL of the internet's Flash video will be available such as Hulu which is already actively blocking Skyfire. The app is scheduled to be released by Friday and will cost $2.99 from the App Store.

We need a list of working sites that can transcode flash into html 5 via Skyfire.

It's been deleted, but not because of Apple:

      Blog | Skyfire

It's "sold out" until further notice, due to bandwidth issues.

Ok this browser just replaced safari for me. Apart from watching flash videos this browswer is much faster and has lots of goodies as options.

This may be a flawed business model, considering that the world hasn't heard of this yet I doubt they will be able to have the server capacity to handle the load.

I wish the Flash would just load automatically. I hate having to click on the Flash images to activate it.

I was pulled by the company because they couldn't handle the load on their server. I'm sure it will be back in the next few days.
