iPhone Coming to Target November 7th
In case you missed it, last night Target announced via press release on its website that the mega-retailer will begin selling the iPhone beginning this Sunday, November 7th. With the rush of the holiday season upon us, Apple has expanded its popular product lines to more retailers than at any time in history. For Target, it's the second major Apple product arrival in so many months. On October 3rd, Target began selling the iPad.
"With expert support from Target Mobile specialists and in-store activation, our guests will be able to leave the store with a new, working iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 in-hand," Mark Schindele, senior VP of merchandising for Target stated on the company's website. Interestingly enough, Target shoppers are being encouraged to take advantage of Target's Electronics Trade-In service which will allow folks to trade-in used cell phones, MP3 players, video games and more "for credit towards any purchase at Target." 846 Target locations nationwide presently have Target Mobile centers.
So the retail roll out for Apple rolls along. The iPhone 4, as we know, has been available through Best Buy and Radio Shack for months. The iPad hit all 1,093 Best Buys in the US as of late September (right before Target got it). Throw in Wal-Mart and AT&T and Verizon stores carrying the iPad and you have a whole lot of holiday market exposure for Apple and its in-demand products.
