  • Mailbox Users Can Get 1GB of Free Dropbox Space By Linking Dropbox to the App

Dropbox is currently offering 1GB of free storage space in the cloud to users that link their Dropbox accounts to the Mailbox application for iOS. Mailbox received Dropbox integration just last month and the promotion appears to be a move to get more Mailbox users to take advantage of Dropbox.

Dropbox Acquired Mailbox back in March of this year. Mailbox is a popular e-mail client created by Orchestra for iOS with unique message handling features, and a beautiful user interface. To date, the client still only supports Gmail, but the developers have promised since the release that more e-mail services would be supported in the future.

The Mailbox application can be downloaded for free from the App Store via this link. You can link your Dropbox account to Mailbox from the Settings panel in the Mailbox application.

Even if you don't use Mailbox, the extra gigabyte of storage in Dropbox might just be worth your time.

When I registered my Galaxy S4 with Dropbox they gave me 50GB.
So an extra 1GB is nothing.

Dropbox is a joke compared to copy.com. 15 GB and an extra 5 for each person you refer that signs up.

Yup I also use copy.com and there is a app for it and google drive. Between the two I have 35GB I can use. Dropbox doesn't have much to offer me compared to these others.

Of course, that 50GB is only for two years, after which it will revert to the standard 3GB. So I'd hardly call 1GB "nothing" - that's a third of your available space! (I know bragging is lots of fun, but it helps to have something to actually brag about)

Correct. I got a kindle fire (for free) when they first came out and got 50GB for free from Box.com. It is now gone and just the normal account. These services routinely run promotions for android powered devices.

Checkout MEGA. They give 50GB for free and it's extremely secure. iOS App is coming soon.

Also notice that for those that had mailbox already linked to Dropbox, just unlink it and re-add right back and you will get the 1gb. I just did that and can proof it works
