Apple Seeds OS X Mavericks Dev Preview 5 on Wednesday
On Wednesday, Apple seeded to developers OS X 10.9 Mavericks Developer Preview 5.
The release is the first for August, as the fourth preview reached developers in late July.
It is believed - but not confirmed by Apple - that the extensive downtime that recently enveloped Apple's Developer Center resulted in Preview 5 coming to us later than expected.
Not surprisingly, there doesn't appear to be a bounty of fireworks here to report. As with the other versions of Mavericks, Developer Preview 5 is all about tiny changes on the backend of things.
As of this writing, it appears that the changes were mostly concentrated on bolstering support for iCloud Keychain.
Additionally, no known issues came with Apple's maintenance update for the current OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion (build 12F33). Developers, however, are encouraged to focus on graphics, Wi-Fi and the wake from sleep functionality.
