Tim Cook Reportedly Tip-Toes Off to China
Slipping beneath the global radar until after his return trip home (assuming he's already back), it looks like Apple CEO Tim Cook recently traversed the globe and make an ultra top-secret visit to China.
If reports surfacing Tuesday are true, Cook was in China at some point in recent days to have a brisk but productive meeting with China Telecom. It goes without saying that Apple isn't confirming what resulted from these talks. Apple won't even confirm that Tim Cook went to China.
But, understandably, speculation is rampant that Cook went to China to notify one of its most important carrier partners in Asia that a new iPhone is coming (most likely the "iPhone 5C") and to smooth over launch details, time-frames, etc.
Cook, of course, is no stranger to visiting the Chinese. In March of last year, Cook visited the world's largest mobile community to tour a Foxconn facility. He subsequently returned in early 2013 to boost relations and expand partnership opportunities inside of this critically important market to Apple.
