  • Apple Seeds iOS 7 Beta 4 to Developers

Following the last minute predictions this morning, Apple Monday seeded iOS 7 Beta 4 to developers for testing.

iOS 7 Beta 4 brings bug fixes and stability improvements to the operating system. The software should only be installed on registered iOS developer devices.

iOS 7 Beta 4 was expected to be released last Monday following Appleís two-week seed increments; however, due to an intruder hacking into the Developer Center, the Developer Center was shut down for a week and the seed was delayed.

Those running iOS 7 Beta 3 can now visit their Settings application and navigate to General>Software Update to find the update waiting for them. There, the update can be downloaded over the air (OTA) and installed without needing to connect to iTunes.

It's there, just as text. I actually like it better. Touch the text and the weather app opens.

I don't have an app to add either. Make sure "Today Summary" is turned on.

Most things from here on out are just going to be slight graphical adjustments and stability improvements.

Do you think the battery life will be an improvement or a drain issue is still lingering upon us?

Posting battery life won't show anything. Each person will use their phone differently and have dramatically different results. Just the difference of being on 4G vs LTE vs WiFi will make a huge difference.

Very true. From my personal use it has improved decently. But also I turned off LTE for my phone because they only place I don't get it is my work. And when there it tries over and over and keeps losing it and it drains it pretty bad and causes browsing to be a lot slower because it goes in and out so much.

Battery life has improved greatly since beta 1. It will continue to improve as more things are optimized.

Really don't understand why there wouldn't at least be an untethered jailbreak for 6.1.4.. iOS 7 is really not all its cracked up to be! I had to downgrade due to apps not functioning on iOS 7. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Exploits for jailbreaking are becoming harder to find. Using one or more to jailbreak 6.1.4 would be a total waste, not only because it is a meaningless update which added nothing but also because 6.1.4 is only for one device.

Apps not functioning on a beta firmware is one of the main reasons it is a BETA. This allows the developers of all those apps to ready their apps for iOS 7. Once ios7 is finalized and released publicly most of those apps will work just fine with it.
