  • Weekly Tweak Recap July 15 - July 21


    In case you've missed out on the new jailbreak tweaks Cydia has seen, this recap will highlight the tweaks we've shown you this week. These are in no specific order.

    1. ayra – $1.99

    It’s hard not to recognize ayra for its good looks and awesome features. This tweak improves the lock screen’s looks and notification functionality by giving you more options for your notifications and offering a sleek new interface. A lot of the tweak looks iOS 7-inspired, but functionally, it's better. You can read more about ayra and its features here.



    2. SmartSearch – FREE

    It’s generally agreed that SpotLight might just be one of the least-used features of iOS. But with a new jailbreak tweak called SmartSearch, we can make SpotLight give use better search results. The tweak makes it so you can ask full-blown questions in SpotLight and you will get answers in SpotLight, much like Siri. You can read more about SmartSearch here.



    3. SearchAmplius – $2.99

    While we’re on the topic of SpotLight, you may also want to take a peek at SearchAlmplius. This tweak also makes SpotLight more useful by allowing you to see more search results than you normally would. New search results include those from the App Store, iTunes, Cydia, and more.     4. SearchCollapse – 99¢

    The ability to collapse different sections in SpotLight is also a feature that Apple should implement into iOS, but since that probably won’t happen, we can use a new jailbreak tweak called SearchCollapse. The tweak lets you easily collapse certain sections in SpotLight search results so you can have a cleaner view of your search results. You can read more about SearchCollapse here.



    5. HomeArtwork – 99¢

    HomeArtwork is another wonderful jailbreak tweak that makes it so when you’re playing music, the album art becomes your home screen and lock screen wallpaper. This is a nice aesthetic touch for people that listen to a lot of music and/or just need some change for their wallpapers. You can read more about HomeArtwork here.



    6. NCCalendar+ – FREE

    If you use the Calendar in iOS a lot to keep your schedule organized, then you may want to take a look at a new jailbreak tweak called NCCalendar+. The tweak is aimed at people will lots of different calendar events that want to be notified in advance about all, or certain groups of calendar events. The tweak gives you the ability to select how far in the future calendar events in the Notification Center will be and lets you have a custom amount of events in Notification Center.     7. Selenium – $1.99

    If you’re into changing things in iOS around to match your tastes in appearance, then this is a jailbreak tweak for you. Selenium gives you access to settings for all kinds of SpringBoard elements like the dock, home screen, lock screen, app switcher, and more. You can change how things look, change alpha levels, font sizes, font colors, and more. For the price that you pay you really get a lot of options to choose from.     8. Gotha – $1.99

    The Contacts application is important for getting ahold of people, but it could do with a little improvement. A new jailbreak tweak called Gotha adds swipe gestures for quick access to getting in touch with contacts and for deleting contacts that you don’t use anymore. You can read more about Gotha here.



    9. FYAFastTranslate – FREE

    Sometimes you need a quick way to translate things to English. A new jailbreak tweak called FYAFastTranslate lets you easily translate phrases and Web pages to English through Google Translate with the simple invocation of an Activator action. You can read more about FYAFastTranslate here.
