Mother Russia has had enough of Apple's iPhone and the huge subsidies and marketing expenses that come with offering the touchscreen smartphone to consumers.
Consequently, the top three carriers in Russia are parting ways with Apple's iPhone.
There's not an iPhone to be had at any of the big three carriers' stores. Last week the last hold-out -- VimpleCom, which sells phones under the Beeline brand -- cut its ties with Apple and began offering its customers Samsung's Galaxy S4 instead.
With 180 million mobile subscribers in Russian, it's difficult to imagine that Apple isn't going to make an effort to win back these potentially long-term lucrative partnerships.
