June Quarter iPhone Sales Estimates Span 23 to 32 Million
To say there's an expansive range to analyst and trader estimates with regard to Apple's June quarter iPhone sales would be a massive understatement.
Forbes reported Monday evening that surveyed analysts have a range of 23 million to 32 million iPhone sales for the most recent quarter, with the average projection coming out to roughly 27 million iPhone units.
"The quarter over quarter decline from 37.4 million would be 26% vs. last years decline of 19% (both are adjusted for channel inventory impacts)," writes Chuck Jones of Forbes. "There should be a greater decline this year since in 2012 China Telecom CHA +0.04% launched in March, which means some of its early sales would have occurred in the June 2012 quarter."
In recent days, estimates for Apple's sales have drifted lower, mostly due to an onslaught of negative announcements from other smartphone makers - information seen as indicative of trouble for smartphone vendors across the tech spectrum, including Cupertino's resident iDevice maker.
Apple will report 3rd quarter fiscal earnings next Tuesday, July 23rd at 2:00 PM Pacific (5:00 PM Eastern). Be sure to stay with MMi for complete earnings results and the after-hours market reaction.
