If you donít use the SpotLight page very much for anything, then why not trick it out with useful system toggles, quick composition, and system information? Shown above, a new jailbreak tweak called TaskMaster by iOS developer iA1eX will do just that.
Upon installing the tweak, you will be able to swipe over to your SpotLight page and find more than just a search bar, but also controls for your music, whether itís currently playing or not, as well as a volume slider and a brightness slider.
Just under that you will find system toggles for:
- Airplane Mode
- Do Not Disturb
- Location Services
- Silent Mode
- Rotation Lock
- Personal Hotspot
Right below the toggles you will find quick composition for Twitter, Facebook, E-mail, and Messages, as well as useful information about the device such as:
- The name of the device
- The type of device and firmware version
- The device's total capacity
- The device's available free space
- The network the device is connected to
- The IP address
- The MAC address
- The battery percentage
Notably, even though the tweak adds new features to the SpotLight page, you can still use the SpotLight page to search for things on your iOS device. That being said, while the tweak is great for people that donít use SpotLight, itís also great for people that do use SpotLight and want to simply improve the functionality of the page.
TaskMaster doesn't come with any options to configure; you will be able to just install it and begin using it. The tweak is compatible with iOS 5.1.1 and later and works on any iPhone or iPod touch (not the iPad just yet). If you would like to give TaskMaster a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for just $1.99.
Requirements: iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 5.1.1 or later
