  • Apple Releases iOS 4.3.2

Apple has just released yet another iOS update. This time, as expected, we have 4.3.2, which gives us minor bug fixes and security patches for the iPhone 4 (GSM), iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, and 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch. For now, the update doesn't apply to the Verizon iPhone 4 (CDMA).

    According to Apple, the update:

    - Fixes an issue that occasionally caused blank or frozen video during a FaceTime call
    - Fixes an issue that prevented some international users from connecting to 3G networks on iPad Wi-Fi + 3G
    - Contains the latest security updates

Immediately following the release, MuscleNerd tweeted the following: "ultrasn0w unlockers stay away from today's iOS 4.3.2! Everyone else, make sure you have your 4.3.1 SHSH blobs saved." He followed with: "Apple sure is aggressively patching these untethered jailbreaks lately (but that's still better than lawsuits)."

The last incremental update for iOS was rolled out just a few short weeks ago, tackling cellular network issues as well as graphics glitches associated with the fourth-generation iPod touch. Within hours of iOS 4.3.1 dropping, speculation mounted about another looming release - the one we received today.

    Update: Verizon iPhone 4.2.7 released

so the procedure is similar to downgrading?...i can't just upgrade using iTunes but do the Shift Restore thing to select 4.3.1 (i have it downloaded)?

I'll be sure to update at the very first Apple update that contains Cydia with it. So I guess I'll be waiting a while.

Download the ipsw for your device and the firmware you want to use, then click restore in iTunes while holding shift if you're In windows, option if you're on a Mac. You should also use tinyumbrella to get the blobs

I believe there is a new update 4.2.7 for CDMA iPhone also out now but it has just some bug fixes and no new features from 4.3.

As long as your only jailbreaking, no big deal if you accidentally upgrade. Just as long as you have your SHSH's and Tiny Umbrella.

Well an unlock isn't critical for me whereas I do like the ability to JB.

That said, when I upgraded to 4.3.1 via sn0wbreeze my apps and screen swipe are lagging and jerky plus a few apps have issues so when an untethered JB is available for 4.3.2 I think I'll do an official upgrade via iTunes then do the JB and hope that those issues are fixed. Not concerned about preserving my 2.10.04..

No, it doesn't. That site and story you linked to always deal in half-truths and rumours. The link that it had on it was a link to a old apple discussion thread that Musclenerd linked to a few days ago dealing with someone updating to 4.3. It had nothing to do with 4.3.2.
