Facebook iOS App Updated With Support for Verified Accounts
Facebook has rolled out an update to the application for iOS devices Wednesday bringing the application to version 6.3.
The update brings a new verified page feature to the application that is very similar to Twitter’s verified account feature. With this feature, users will usually be able to tell when accounts are legitimate or wannabes. As shown above, a verified page will display a blue check mark by the page name. Facebook notes that verified pages are for celebrities, public figures, and brands.
In addition, Facebook has fixed a problem that was causing the News feed in the application to load slowly for some people. The update also implements improved places editing in order to fix categories, phone numbers, and some other information on the iPad.
The update can be downloaded for free from the Updates tab in the App Store if you're using the Facebook application already. Alternatively, the latest version of Facebook for iOS can be downloaded for free via this App Store link
