Limbo Now Available on iOS
The eerie but excellent Limbo has now been made available for the iPad 2 (or higher, including iPad mini), the iPhone 4S (and higher) and the latest iPod Touch. For those of you who donít know about it, Limbo stars a young and nameless boy who wakes up in a forest. You arenít given any information such as a backstory or any objectives, which is a strong part of the gameís appeal. In an effort to avoid spoilers, youíll basically encounter other characters and locations which help unravel what youíre supposed to do and why.
Another big part of the gameís charm is its presentation; Limbo is a 2D black-and-white game, with a heavy emphasis on silhouettes, the smoothly-animated main protagonist, and interesting physics puzzles that get increasingly complex. The overall feel of the game is quite creepy but many people end up appreciating it's craft. The touch controls of the iOS version do take a little bit of getting used to but the developers, Playdead, did a great job with their port of the game.
Those of you who are interested in trying the game will have to fork over $4.99 at the iTunes App Store. If you havenít had a chance to sit down to play the game on a PC or console yet, it is definitely worth picking up.
