Google Hangouts iOS App Updated With Support for Links, Invites, Improvements
Google has issued an update to their new Google Hangouts application for iOS, which the company launched just in the middle of May
, bringing the application to version 1.1.1. Google Hangouts offers a way for people to communicate, supporting one-on-one chatting, group chatting, hundreds of emoji, and more.
The update to Google Hangouts adds many improvements to the application, including the ability to tap on links to open them in Mobile Safari. With this feature, you won’t have to copy and paste links anymore to get to the Web site your friend sends to you.
The update also gives you the ability to invite new friends to join you in Google Hangouts. Seeing as how the application was just released, not everyone is aware of its existence. So now, you can just send an invite to your friend via SMS (text message) and you can try to persuade them to join you. Google Hangouts doesn't cost anything to use like some SMS plans do, so it's a good alternative for some.
Google Hangouts has even received a new feature that will plan in-app sounds when you receive messages from the people you’re communicating with. Improvements to badge count behavior, the network connection bar, and support for iOS 6.0 have also been added on top of some bug fixes.
Existing users can download the Google Hangouts for free from the Updates tab in the App Store. Alternatively, new users can download the latest version of Google Hangouts from this App Store link
