  • Apple Seeds iOS 7 Beta 2 to Developers

Apple recently released the second beta of iOS 7 for the iPhone to developers. The update arrives two weeks after the new mobile operating system was unveiled at WWDC 2013. Developers who are testing the software can download iOS 7 beta 2 through Software Update in the iPhone’s native Settings application. Apple has said the update contains bug fixes and improvements.

The Cupertino California company also warned users that the second beta “should only be deployed on devices dedicated for iOS 7 beta software development.” The prelease software isn’t intended for use among the general public.

Although the Settings icon has changed in iOS 7, the gears included still rotate while iOS 7 beta 2 is downloading.

For those of you who don’t know, Apple gave developers the first beta of iOS 7 two weeks ago at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. This was also the first time in the world that the general public was able to see the major design overhaul made to the platform. When it comes to the exact changes made for iOS 7 beta 2, they have not yet been revealed. We’ll find out soon though as more users download and test this beta version.

Since you don't seem to understand anything that you need and don't need to do I suggest you wait till the fall for the official release.
Got it figured out. Thanks for not helping. You were a real help, that's all I look for in these post.

Well @iH8sn0w tweeted saying Beta2 will expire August 8. Doesn't Apple do like 5 - 6 betas? Of course there isn't going to be any news on the JB. They have only had iOS7 for 2weeks! The JB Devs keep that kind stuff very quiet. No use letting Apple know that there is exploits/vulns gd to go when the GM is months away. Who knows if he did or does, if he was to stay with iOS u can bet he'll wanting his iPhone jailbroken to rectify it!

Have faith dude, this kinda chatter happens with every iOS update...Questions that ultimately lead to more questions...I wouldn't expect to see a JB this side of Xmas if past JB's are anything to go by...

Yeah you just go to settings>general>check for update and beta 2 should be there, waiting to be downloaded and installed

I updated to iOS 7 Beta2 this morning and it works just fine over OTA. I am using it now. We now have voice recording back. Looks pretty sweet too. Seems to have fixed some issues i was having with iMessage keyboard not appearing when accessing an IM. It also has fixed the crashing when trying to call someone. Those were my two issues. Anyone else update? Have you noted any changes?

There is now a traffic reports option for notification center. Only on my iPhone though. Glad to see the weather come to notification center on the iPad.

This is funny to read, those of you who know what you are doing seem fine, but the people asking all the
how to, where can I pay, are going to have their phones so screwed up, good luck, you really, really need
to know what you are doing or how to get back if it screwed up.

The easiest way is to jailbreak, go to Cydia and download all the ios7 themes, widgets, everything else.
Mine looks just like this and have no hassles, can continue to use my phone.

And will keep it this way until Evasi0n jailbreaks 7!! Hope they are running betas and testing!!!!!

      1) Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
      2) Add your email account(s) and test them
      3) Go to accounts.apple.com from a computer and link your email accounts to your Apple ID (Apple will send verification links).
      4) Settings > Messages
      5) Enable iMessage
      6) Enable the option to receive through your email address(es)

You install it the exact same way people with out dev accounts have been installing all the other betas. I am running it as I type this on my iPad 4. I had to do a DFU restore to 6.1.3 before doing the update to 7.0b2 otherwise it would freeze right after booting. After 7 was installed I restored from an iCloud backup and everything is running fine, with the occasional bugs of course.

Shift Restore to 6.1.3, set up as new, shift update to 7.0b2. No DFU restore.

I had to do the dfu because 7 was freezing right after boot so I had to start over with 6.1.3.

That's what I did the first time and it didn't work for me either. DFU back to 6.1.3 and then update to 7.

There seems to be a lot of snobby people on this thread saying "if you don't know what you're doing you shouldn't be messing with your phone etc..." Laughing at people who have screwed up their phones, using condescending language...

The first time I bricked my phone it was the end if the world but I got on forums (this one in fact) and people helped me out. No one talked down to me like I was an idiot and I LEARNED.
I wish it was still like that, those people who patiently answered my idiotic beginner questions without calling me a noob, or belittling in any way...
