Voice Memos App Not Currently in iOS 7 Beta 1, But May Return in Future Beta
For unknown reasons, the Voice Memos application, popularly used for capturing audio-only recordings, is missing from iOS 7 beta 1, but a leaked screenshot from a WWDC 2013 developer session seems to imply that the application isnít gone for good.
Shown above is the leaked screenshot (via MacRumors
); the Voice Memos application can be seen in all of its black and white glory at the very bottom of the display in the last row of home screen applications above the dock. The application resembles an audio wave rather than a microphone like it did in iOS 6.
Although the Voice Memos application isnít accessible in iOS 7 beta 1, it is expected to return in a future beta or by the final release. In fact, many things are expected to change from iOS 7 beta 1 to the final release this Fall, but this isn't much of a surprise since the betas are for testing only.
Notably, a lone developer even found some interesting hidden settings
in iOS 7 beta 1 that might become accessible to users by the final release, so we already know Apple hasn't given us the whole story just yet.
