  • Apple Releases New Interactive Mac Pro Site

During today’s WWDC keynote, Phil Schiller gave us a rare and unprecedented look at an upcoming product that won’t be shipping for a while. If you saw today’s keynote, you likely managed to catch Apple’s 30-second teaser video for the next-gen Mac Pro. It was reported earlier that the Mac Pro will be touting dual workstation CPU FirePro processors, up to 2 times faster than the current Mac Pro. There will also be built-in support for up to 3.4K displays, HDMI out, GB Ethernet, and internal storage with 1.25 GBps reads and 1 GBps writes. The new Mac Pro features Thunderbolt 2, and it’s backwards-compatible with the current-generation Thunderbolt accessories. The design of the device has been completely revamped as well, with the new model being only 9.9 inches tall.

Apple took the liberty to update its website with a new cool and informative interactive page for the Mac Pro. If you’re interested in learning more about the Mac Pro, we’d recommend hitting the source link below to check it out. It definitely is a few steps forward from just an average update. Phil Schiller even said the following during the keynote when referring to the Mac Pro and the general remarks of Apple being unable to innovate:

    Can't innovate anymore, my ***!
The shipping and pricing information hasn’t been made available as of yet but should be made available publicly in the near future.

I smiled when he said that. The jokes this time were actually funny, the last presentation was so lame

It's sexy but it goes back to proprietary parts . I love that with my current Mac Pro I can put in any video card I choose or optical drive or internal storage. The new Mac Pro is nice and small but everything is external and that's not what I want if I have to move my workstation.

No expansion, a handful of storage space, locked into one type of GPU....all while looking like a Dyson Trash Can.

LOL. If you scour TUAW for stories to re-post, give credit to TUAW. Is that so hard?

      [edit]
I believe my brother posted this while my account was logged-in.

The MMi article is wrong. It is using Intel CPUs. It's using AMD GPU

CPU is Intel. The dual graphics processors are ATI/AMD.
