'ScreenshotPlus' Lets You Crop Screenshots Before Taking Them
If you’ve ever been in a situation where you wanted to take a screenshot, but then later wanted to crop the screenshot so only a portion of it would be saved, then you had to go into the Photos application and go through the editing process.
Luckily, a new jailbreak tweak called ScreenshotPlus
by iOS developer Coleman Stavish has simplified this process. The tweak lets you set an Activator action to take a screenshot that you can crop before you capture the screenshot and save it. This eliminates having to go through the trouble of editing your screenshots after taking them.
As shown above, after invoking the Activator action of your choice, you can choose the dimensions that you want to take a screenshot of. You can tap, hold, and drag on any of the re-sizing handles to re-size the dimensions of your screenshot. At the bottom of the crop box you will see the amount of pixels in the selected area, as well as a camera button that you can tap on to capture the selected area.
Once you have tapped on the camera button, you can find your screenshot in the Photos application and send it to someone without having to crop it after you’ve already taken the screenshot.
ScreenshotPlus adds a preferences pane to the Settings application with the simple option of hiding or showing the dimensions of the selected area inside of the crop box:
The bottom line is that it’s more convenient to size out your screenshot prior to saving it than to have to save the screenshot and edit it later. This way you know the screenshot is exactly what you want before you send it to someone. With the tweak’s intuitive interface and great Activator support, we can recommend this tweak to just about anyone. If you want to give it a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for just 99¢.
