'Cybernetic' Prevents Accidents When You Receive Notification Banners
One of the most annoying things that can happen when you receive a notification banner in iOS is the application opening when you tap on the notification banner by mistake. This disrupts your workflow and it’s just a major inconvenience.
A new free jailbreak tweak called Cybernetic
by iOS developer Noeliel aims to prevent this mistake. The tweak makes it so that tapping on a notification banner dismisses the notification rather than opening the application that the notification banner is for. From now on, to open the application that the notification banner is for, you can drag down on the notification banner.
The new gestures help prevent accidental taps that can disrupt your workflow by opening an unintended application. The tweak can be enabled or disabled globally for all applications via the preferences pane in the Settings application:
In addition, users will be able to enable or disable the tap and pull gestures individually from the preferences pane. Users will also find an option to disable notification banners outright, either permanently or temporarily to help prevent mistakes even further. The developer notes that this feature is great for gaming, as it will keep the notification banners from getting in the way of your gaming.
Simply being careful can prevent most accidents, but Cybernetic is a great way to help out those that are a little clumsier. If you would like to give it a try, Cybernetic is available at no cost in Cydia’s ModMyi repository.
