In case you've missed out on the new jailbreak tweaks Cydia has seen, this recap will highlight the tweaks we've shown you this week. These are in no specific order.
1. AltKeyboard – 99¢
is a new jailbreak tweak that promises to improve typing productivity in iOS by making it easier to input alternative characters via swipe gestures. The tweak makes it so that the primary character appears in large font on the keyboard keys, while the secondary character appears in smaller font on the keyboard above the primary character. This tweak is a great way to keep yourself from changing between keyboard views over and over when you need to use an alternative character in the middle of a sentence and can be a real time saver.
2. Volume Amplifier – $1.99
is a new tweak that promises to make it easier to hear your calls on your iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S. The tweak allows you to amplify your call volume by up to 200%. No more will you be driving down the road and unable to hear the person you’re trying to talk to. You can even drive with your windows down and still hear the other person! The tweak adds a colorful interface to the volume HUD (heads up display) when you try to amplify the volume to alert you that the tweak is working. Once you hit 100% volume, just keep pressing the volume up button to amplify your volume even more – it’s that simple.
3. PadClock – FREE
is a new free jailbreak tweak that replaces the spinning selector in the Alarm section of the Clock application with a number pad. In addition, you will have to select AM or PM using the new buttons rather than the spinning selector. The tweak is great for those that hate using the spinning selector because of the time it takes up when you could have simply put in a time of your choice. It’s great to have options like these!
4. TranslucentStatusBar for Safari – FREE
TranslucentStatusBar for Safari
is a simple new jailbreak tweak that makes it so your Status Bar is translucent in Mobile Safari when you scroll through content. The feature makes it so more Web content can be seen at a glance, and the overall effect of the tweak is pretty neat.
5. LockToggle – FREE
is a new free jailbreak tweak that adds toggles to the lock screen. You can choose if you want the toggles to appear at the top of the bottom of the lock screen, and simply tapping on one of them will perform its action. They look good too!
6. iYoutubeReplay – FREE
is a new free jailbreak tweak that forces YouTube videos to automatically begin playing again after they finish. The tweak only works in Google’s third party YouTube application from the App Store. It’s useful for when you’re listening to music and want it to loop over and over again. Then again, if you’re watching a rather short and unbelievable video, it’s a great way to make sure you see it again immediately for a double-take.
7. NewsTask – FREE
is a simple free jailbreak tweak that keeps the Newsstand “application” out of the App Switcher. The simple reasoning behind this is that the Newsstand application is much like a folder, and there’s no point in keeping a folder in the App Switcher because the individual newspapers or magazines that you open are also in the App Switcher.
8. OpenOnSearch – FREE
is a new free jailbreak tweak that automatically opens the first SpotLight search result when you tap on the Search button via the keyboard. The feature is a lot like the “I’m feeling lucky” feature that’s available below the Google Search bar on Google’s main page.
9. No Page Bounce – FREE
No Page Bounce
eliminates the rubber band effect that happens on the home screen when you scroll too far to the right. It works hand-in-hand with the NoSpot jailbreak tweak, which does the same to the left side of the home screen when SpotLight is disabled.
